Anytime a supplier publishes a GTIN hierarchy with a parent GTIN that is a Pallet, certain validations are applied to meet TI/HI requirements.  If this is not submitted correctly, you could see review messages from your trading partners after publication.

Because your parent GTIN is a Pallet, there are several attributes and values to consider in order to correct TI/HI review messages.  First, note your GTIN link quantities and your value for Qty of Next Level Items on your Pallet GTIN.  Next, please be aware there are actually two sets of values related to TI/HI.  One set is used when you have an actual pallet GTIN in the hierarchy.  The second set is used when you do not have a pallet GTIN in your hierarchy but want to communicate what a pallet would look like for you.  These two are identified in Item Management as “Number of Trade Items Per Pallet Layer / NON GTIN Pallet Ti” and “Number of Layers Per Pallet / NON GTIN Pallet Hi.

When you have a Pallet in your GTIN Hierarchy, use those TI/HI attributes instead.  These attributes are identified in Item Management as “Number of Items in a Complete Layer / GTIN Pallet Ti” and “Number of Complete Layers Contained in Item / GTIN Pallet Hi.”

The attribute “Number of Items in a Complete Layer / GTIN Pallet Ti” is used to identify how many of your child items under the pallet (i.e. Case) occur in one row on the pallet.  The attribute “Number of Complete Layers Contained in Item / GTIN Pallet Hi” is used to identify the number of rows “high” on your pallet.

For GTINs with a Pallet GTIN in the hierarchy, the value for Pallet TI times the value for Pallet HI should equal the value for Qty Next Level items between your pallet and child item.  TI x HI = Qty Next Level Items.  If this is not true, update your values so they are accurate and pass these validations.

A question with these is that even though we're populating the non-GTIN Pallet Ti/Hi for our merchandisers, we still get the warning of asking us to populate the GTIN Pallet Ti/Hi...even though we've had multiple merchandisers synchronize fine with Walmart without doing this. It's not preventing a publication, but curious why this warning would still trigger.

Hello @DHood1! Thank you for this question!

It can sometimes happen that the validation will highlight both sets of attributes.
It can happen because 1WorldSync performs validations on all items in IM based on several different factors.

  1. GDSN Standard validations
  2. 1WorldSync system and data quality/completeness validations
  3. Recipient validations, based on playlists

All these validations may result in a warning (does not stop sync) or an error (does stop sync).
So, in simple terms, some of the validation sets highlight these two areas to bring your attention to them while sometimes not specifying the exact set you need, letting you choose the appropriate one for your particular case.

Here is a great discussion that I referenced in my reply: Validation for TI/HI and Number of Items/Pallet - Syndigo Customer Community
Feel free to take a look and explore this topic further!
Hope this answer helps! : )
