The Promotions report provides insight into the products that are part of an active promotion on a retailer site. The information provided in the report can be used to monitor average savings, promotion type, and duration of a promotion at a product/brand/site level. For accounts with Zip Code reporting (Geo), additional location specific metrics are provided.

Current Tab

The default view of the Promotions Report displays the total number of Live Site Products that are identified as part of an active promotion, along with a breakdown of the type of promotions that are affecting your products.

Users can hover over a data point within the graph to display the total number of products being identified for that given metric.

  • All graphs and product tables are interoperable within the Promotions report. For additional details, click into a metric within the bar graph to spotlight the products in the graphic to the left and in the product table below.

In the Product table below the graphics, the following metrics are displayed based on selections within the graphs. These metrics are displayed tab by tab based on Product, Brand, and Website.

Generating Demand with Effective Promotions

Promotions play an important role in building an effective demand curve for each combo of SKU, promotion type, and discount level. One frequently used strategy to generate consumer demand is to cycle promotions on and off for a product. Promoted products appear higher in search rankings and drive organic SEO. Brands can then cycle off the discounts and ride the increased organic SEO traffic to drive sales. Advanced strategies combine these promotion tactics with sponsored display on an owned PDP as a basket building technique.
