Critical errors identify data issues that prevent your products from being published. This article explains how to identify, review, and resolve critical errors, and how they differ from yellow data quality indicators.
A critical error is an issue the system flags in your product data that affects the product's readiness score. Until a critical error is resolved, the product cannot be published.
Critical errors are marked with a red exclamation point icon. When you see this icon, an issue is affecting your product's readiness and needs your attention. Click the icon to view the error details, which explain what needs to be corrected.
To resolve the issue in the example above, replace the image with a new file that meets the minimum size requirements listed.
Double-click on the affected area to update or replace the data causing a critical error.
Not every flag in your data blocks publication. Yellow data quality indicators are system suggestions to help improve your content. Unlike critical errors, they do not affect your readiness score or prevent publication.
| Indicator | What It Means | Affects Readiness? | Action Needed |
| Red exclamation point (Critical Error) | A data issue that must be fixed before the product can be published | Yes | Required. Review the error details and resolve the issue. |
| Yellow Icon (Data Quality) | A system suggestion to improve data quality | No | Optional. Review and apply the suggestion if it fits your content. |
Tip: If a yellow indicator flags a word or phrase that is correct for your brand or products, such as a product name or industry term, add it to the Company Dictionary on the Configurations tab so it isn't flagged in the future.
