I. Hierarchie = leerer Kasten (Display) bestehend aus: leeren Flaschen (Basisartikel) + leerem Rahmen (Basisartikel)

The German target market differentiates between depositable single-use and reusable packaging, while the Austrian target market only includes depositable reusable packaging.
Below, we will explain with an example how to best set up deposit items. Please note that the following GTINs and details are just an example. You should adjust the information accordingly for your product.
To set up this deposit structure, you will need a total of 5 GTINs, which will be linked in 2 different hierarchies:
I. Hierarchy = empty box (display) consisting of: empty bottles (base item) + empty frame (base item)
Create a base item for "Empty Bottle" with a GTIN (e.g., 04044444555555).
Example: Product classification returnable bottle
Create a base item for the empty box or frame with a GTIN (e.g., 04033333444445).
Create a display as packaging with a GTIN (e.g., 04055555333338). (The display will consist of the two base items "Empty Box" and the quantity of "Empty Bottles.")
Both items must then be classified as Storage/Haulage Containers (92000000) in the "Classification" section.
In the "Packaging / Logistics / Price / Ordering / Returnable Assets" section under "Deposit Items," you should enter the following configuration for each item (empty bottle and frame):
Is Returnable Asset Emtpy: (TRUE) – Yes
Deposit amount: enter the numeric value here
Deposit amount: Currency: e.g., (EUR) – Euro
Returnable Asset Capacity: Content: e.g., 1 (empty bottle) or 24 (frame)
Returnable Asset Capacity: Content Unit of measurement: select the appropriate value
Create the hierarchy by linking the items together. More information can be found in this article: https://1worldsync.atlassian.net/jira/servicedesk/projects/CSDA/knowledge/categories/11477402-b251-4...
Note: Please do not forget to publish the deposit hierarchy to the trade.
II. Hierarchy consisting of = full box + full bottles
Create a full bottle as a base item with a GTIN (e.g., 04015000010153).
In the "Packaging / Logistics / Price / Order / Deposit Items" section under "Deposit Items," you should enter the following configuration to mark the full goods as a deposit item and link it to the empty goods:
Is Returnable Asset Emtpy: (FALSE) – No
Package Deposit Code: the GTIN of the corresponding deposit item (empty bottle – in our example, 04044444555555)
Returnable Assets Contained: Quantity: e.g., 1 (How many times can the empty goods item be assigned to the full goods item?)
Example: Configuration of a full bottle
Create the full goods box as packaging with a GTIN (e.g., 04015000750455).
In the "Packaging / Logistics / Price / Order / Deposit Items" section under "Deposit Items," you should enter the following configuration to mark the full goods as a deposit item and link it to the empty goods:
Is Returnable Asset Emtpy: (FALSE) – No
Package Deposit Code: the GTIN of the corresponding deposit item (display – in our example, 04055555333338)
Returnable Assets Contained: Quantity: e.g., 1 (How many times can the empty goods item be assigned to the full goods item?)
Edit the hierarchy of the two full goods items and publish the packaging item.
Note: Please only link full-goods items with deposit items on which there is actually a deposit. For example, if your item is a six-pack which can be packed in plastic foil and delivered in a carton, only enter the deposit GTIN of the empty can for the full can. There is of course no deposit on the carton and therefore no information in the deposit item section is given there. Therefore, please leave out the information in the box in the field “Is Returnable Asset Empty” completely and point out that the item is not a deposit item.
The following figure image illustrates the link between deposit and empty items (image available only in German):
